A look at the Balkans from the Pyrenees" which took place in the "Prof. Marin Drinov" Hall at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. It was attended by three guests from Spain: Enrique Criado, diplomat and writer, Miguel Rodriguez, political scientist and director of Balkania magazine, and Marc Casals, journalist and expert on the Balkans. Moderator of the meeting was the journalist Boyko Vassilev.

The Round Table allowed the three Spanish writers to share their impressions of the life in Bulgaria and the neighboring countries, as well as the culture and traditions of the Balkan peoples. They discussed in a wider context the issues of stereotypes in facing with otherness, prejudices, and center-periphery relations.

At the event, Enrique Criado presented his latest book "The Balkan Umbrella", which will be published in Bulgarian. It is inspired by his work in Sofia and his travels through the Balkans.

The event is part of the celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
