How the development of communications and intelligence in the ancient and medieval world mutually influenced each other is the subject of the present research of Prof. Simeonova. It is based on a large number of sources of different types and origins (Greek, Latin, Eastern and Slavic). Stories of espionage, passing on secret information and all forms of deception, as well as poisoning as a way to remove embarrassing personalities emerge from the gloom of bygone eras.
