On June 13, 2023, at the Institute of Balkan Studies and Centre of Thracology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, a seminar was held on the topic "Journey to the land of archives: Through the history of bilateral relations between the People's Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Austria".

The event is organized under the project "Austrian-Bulgarian relations during the Cold War" funded by the Bulgarian National Science Fund of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy through the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research. Special guest was H.E. Andrea Ikić-Böhm, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Bulgaria .

Participants in the semimnar presented results of their latest research on the subject in the archives of both countries. They have discovered interesting and hitherto unknown details of the bilateral Austrian-Bulgarian relations from the economic, cultural and political spheres.
